This is the README.TXT for the Font-O-Matic, the free
and fun software from DeinerSoft that helps solve those
nasty Desktop Publishing problems about which fonts you
have and what they look like.
I wrote the Font-O-Matic for fame, not fortune. Still,
it lives up to complete commerical standards for how
software should be developed and delivered. If you find
a better product, buy it. And tell me about it. I
don't want to have any competition left standing.
The Font-O-Matic does the following:
1) Displays all available screen or printer fonts with
samples at various point sizes using a familiar "explorer"
interface. You can see the effects of bolding, italics,
and underlining.
2) Displays uninstalled fonts as easily as those already
installed on your system.
3) Organizes fonts alphabetically, by font technology (True
Type, Vector, Device, or Fixed Pitch), or by font family
(Roman, Swiss, Modern, Script, Decorative, or Other) to
help find the right font for the purpose you need.
4) May be run in several instances to allow side by side
comparisons.
Try to remember to send me some eMail at
hdeiner@myself.com to say that you got the software, and
what you like or don't like. Feel free to suggest other
programs that you would find useful if I were to write them.
I promise not to give away your return address or use your
address except to contact you if I update the product.
And I promise to never charge you for it.
